Connect a controller to measure polling.
Browser-observed timing. Controller updates may be slower than polling; very short taps can still be missed.
Tap A, Space or the onscreen A button to jump. Release between taps. Climb as many stairs as you can before time runs out.
After the count-in, your first tap starts the timer. Your score is the furthest stair you land on.
You get one ranked daily run, resetting at midnight Pacific. Your first jump uses the entry; stopping a run does not restore it. Practice has no limit.
The strip below the game shows your taps against frames 1–4–6 or 1–4–8. Blue marks the targets, green marks correct taps, and red marks off-target taps. Each valid three-tap pattern gives Mario a physical boost, even in midair. Your stair score counts the furthest stair reached, including airborne progress.
For individual attempts and timing graphs, use Practice.
The game uses libsm64 movement on a custom stair course. Backwards alignment and crouching are automatic. Browser input timing is estimated, not measured at the controller.
Daily scores are stored under your display name. Scores have input and movement checks, but are not verified by an authoritative replay. Practice history and preferences stay on this device. Interrupted runs do not set personal bests.
